Cockroaches

Cockroaches, while not as common in our Northwest climate as in more tropical places, are still found fairly frequently. The most prevalent species, The German cockroach, can actually be found worldwide wherever there are people, being transported from place to place as we ship goods. They are frequently brought into homes, apartment buildings and businesses in some kind of shipment. If food, water, and harborage (a crack to hide in) are available, a mating pair (or a previously fertilized female) can produce an astonishing number of offspring in a fairly short period of time.

Cockroach control starts with a very thorough inspection to identify the food and water sources and the focal points of the infestation. Once the majority of the population has been located, they can be eliminated with a combination of baits, dusts, aerosols, and residual sprays. The exact products used would depend on the population locations and the severity of the infestation.

In many situations, repeat treatments are needed – both for elimination of the current infestation, and as a preventative measure.
