Wild animals in the streets. No, not young vandals, but coyotes.

Yes, coyotes have been spotted in the area by local residents.

Police are cautioning residents to be on the look out for these animals and to not mistake them for large dogs.

They are advising everyone to keep pet food inside, and secure garbage cans.

Keep your pets inside as much as possible, and if you have a birdfeeder be aware that coyotes are attracted to the feed as well as smaller animals that might feed on it.

If you encounter a coyote act aggressively, moving your arms and standing erect.

Lastly, never feed a coyote.
